AVALON JUNIOR MAKES AUSTRALIA DEBUT!

September saw an incredible moment for the club, with W16/1s player Annmarie de Uriarte making her debut for the ParaMatildas.

The forward, a part of the club since U8s, has been in training squads with the team for nearly 12 months, and finally received her call up for Australia’s three match tour of Japan, played in Osaka.

Playing off the bench in games 1 and 2, and starting in game 3, de Uriarte excelled, scoring seven goals across the three games, including a hattrick in the second match, and making her mark an international level, despite being the youngest member of the squad at 15.

Annemarie’s achievements were recognised by the club when she was awarded the inaugural Player Recognition Award, at the recent Junior Presentation day. The award was accepted by her father Jamie from club vice-president Stuart Randall, as Annemarie was in Osaka preparing for game one.
