Welcome to Avalon Soccer Club (AVSC) Grading for 2026. At AVSC we want all our players and volunteers to feel included in a safe, fair, and enjoyable environment.
For many players, it’s simply enjoying the game with friends; for others, it’s joining a team with people of comparable skill; and for a few, it’s striving to compete at the highest level they can reach.

In 2026 we are grading U10 / W10 to U18 / W18 age groups, particularly for:
• players that wish to try out for the highest level/Division in the respective age groups,
• new players
• inexperienced with Grading and therefore require some guidance regarding most suitable level. Possibly the younger age groups?
If you have a team organised for the lower Divisions and your players do not wish to grade, please discuss with your relevant Age Coordinator.
For 2026 AVSC requests the coaches from relevant age groups to assist in Grading – after all, these coaches have coached the respective players for the whole of last season (and maybe more). This request is particularly for coaches returning in 2026, however AVSC would appreciate insights from 2025 coaches not returning. There will also be impartial experienced Graders/Coaches guiding the process.
Grading will consist of a warmup and 4 core skill assessment, followed by Small Sided Games (SSG). Please bring your football gear including boots, shin pads, and water.
After the grading, the age Vice Presidents will facilitate a ‘team forming’ meeting with age Coaches and/or Managers and Age Coordinators using the Grading results and the previous seasons Coaches Reports. NO announcement will be made until the Grading Committee finalises teams.
AVSC believes this Grading process is not only fair but also allows our players to successfully develop and enjoy playing the World Game.
