To all Avalon members

After this unprecedented season, Avalon Soccer Club welcomes the decision by MWFA to reduce a number of the costs associated with the competition this year. The disrupted season has resulted in no canteen or BBQ operation at Careel Bay, no gala days or trial games and a significant drop in merchandise and sponsorship revenue. This decision by MWFA, in conjunction with Football NSW and Northern Beaches Council, will ease the financial burden placed on all community clubs in 2020.

In light of this reduction to our cost base, Avalon Soccer Club has committed to:

1) Ensure that there is no registration increase in 2021 for any of our members
2) Invest in an training hub at the clubhouse to allow our coaches full access to a range of new training equipment for their sessions in 2021
3) Develop an infrastructure project as we look toward improvements for Careel Bay ahead of the planned installation of synthetic fields in 2023

As a club we applaud the decision by MWFA and their determination to run a safe, collaborative season to benefit all of the players in the association. We also thank everyone of our 1200 members for their cooperation and commitment to the season. This hasn’t been easy, and we appreciate your patience and support of our club.

And to our volunteers, from the ground set up crew, to the parent game leaders, and our tireless committee members who have had to navigate the challenges of 2020, we say thank you. We really couldn’t do it without you. It has been a season like no other, and hopefully one we never have to repeat.

We’ve faced many challenges, both on and off the field. There have been some highs and admittedly some lows along the way, but through it all we’re all incredibly proud to represent Avalon Soccer Club and we want this club to be a key part of the community and be seen as a model sporting organisation and a credit to the area.

Enjoy the final weekend of the season, good luck to our competition teams, and we look forward to welcoming you all back to the Bay in 2021.
